I enjoyed our trip to St. James and
participating in the Faith in Action program. I think by studying the scripture
in the way we did, I was able to understand it better and get a deeper meaning
of it. The ideas that were pointed out opened my eyes to the passage in ways
that I had never thought of. The other people in my group were very
intelligent. The ideas that they had were eye opening. They were also very
welcoming and talked to me like I was an adult instead of just a high school
student. This experience did motivate me to want to contribute to my community.
The examples that they gave helped me realize the importance in trying to get
involved.
This is a good blog. I agree with what you are saying about how this was an eye opening experience. The choices of scripture were excellent choices. I also did like how they talked to us like we were adults and not high school students. It is nice to be treated like we are actually people. Good job!
ReplyDeleteKayeci, One thing I keep noticing when I take high school students out into the community is how eager adults are to interact with you all. People at that Bible study were surprised at how thoughtful and articulate you were (I wasn't). Teens have so much to offer the world NOW --not later when they're adults. You all have intelligence and a perspective that helps us older folk see things in a different way.
